We are delighted to have our own school kitchen and Kitchen Team Leader, Janice Longstaff, proving home cooked, healthy and delicious meals in school. Parents can order meals on the  School Hub App up to two weeks in advance, and make amendments on the day up to 9.30 am , which is the cut off time. The link to the website is given below, for usernames and passwords please contact the office.

At present, Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are provided free meals paid for by the government.   We encourage all infant children to partake of the free school meals arrangement. You can purchase a school meal for £3.20 per meal. If your child is a junior and not entitled to free school meals, they have the option to  choose dinners from the menu on the days that they like,  and bring a  packed lunch on the other days. As long as their choice  is ordered or changed by 9.30am on the day , they have the flexibility to choose.

We regularly hold parent and community lunches so families can come and see how wonderful the food is. Children have taster sessions and help us to decide on the menu options each term.

The Food Hygiene Rating Scheme (FHRS) give you information about the hygiene standards in the school. The scheme is run by the local authority in partnership with the Food Standards Agency.  Our school is given a ‘hygiene rating’ when it is inspected by a food safety officer from the local authority. The hygiene rating shows how closely the school is meeting the requirements of food hygiene law.

Each inspection checks the following criteria:

  • how hygienically the food is handled – how it is prepared, cooked, re-heated, cooled and stored
  • the condition of the structure of the buildings – the cleanliness, layout, lighting, ventilation and other facilities
  • how the school  manages and records what it does to make sure food is safe

Here is our latest food standards agency inspection rating:
