At Lowca Community School, the staff and governors work together to ensure that we offer a fun and exciting learning curriculum. Using the National Curriculum framework, we teach subjects and concepts that go above and beyond the government expectations and link the learning to the interests and needs of our pupils as well as within the context of the local area. This curriculum is enriched with regular trips, visits and learning experiences that help bring our curriculum to life!
Below are the long term curriculum plans for all subjects taught within school. We use the White Rose Curriculum model for Maths and supplement with additional resources for stretch and challenge. We also map these as classes to ensure we make effective cross curricular links between topics when applicable and provide enrichment and purposeful opportunities for development.
Our curriculum is adapted through Quality First Teaching to ensure we comply with duties outlined in the Equality Act 2010 and the Special Educational Needs and Disability Regulations 2014. Please refer to our SEND page or speak with our SENDCo, Jennifer Walker, for more information.
